Traditional Oatmeal
If I’m not mistaken, I believe this is the fourth recipe made with oatmeal that I have here on the blog, and with reason because I truly love it, especially when I make it simple for breakfast. And I say simple because after making it on the stove you can add any other ingredient that you want like fruit and nuts.
I used to make the oatmeal packets for breakfast because you could make them quick in the microwave and because they come in different flavors. That all changed the moment I saw that each packet has between 15-16 grams of sugar, which is way too much since one teaspoon has 4 grams, and let’s not even mention the amount of preservatives they have.
It’s always best to make everything at home because that way we can add the ingredients and in the amount that we want. You can make this oatmeal with any kind of liquid and sweetener, if you want to make it sweet. And like I mentioned earlier, you can add any kind of fruit or even walnuts or almonds so it tastes even more delicious.
¡Buen provecho!
