Salpicón (Colombian Fruit Cocktail)

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups watermelon (cut into chunks)
  • 2 cups pineapple (cut into chunks)
  • 1 cup grapes (cut in half)
  • 1 mango (cut into chunks)
  • 2 bananas (cut into slices)
  • 1 small can (5 oz. sweetened condensed milk (optional))
  • 1 liter or 3 (12 oz. cans of Colombiana soda, strawberry or orange flavored soda. You can also use strawberry, watermelon or papaya juice)
  • Vanilla ice cream (opcional)
  • 6-8 Rolled or regular wafers (opcional)

Instructions
 

  • Mix all fruit in a large bowl.
  • Drizzle the inside of your serving glass with the condensed milk.
  • Fill up the glass with the fruit just over half way full.
  • Add the soda or juice leaving room for the ice cream.
  • Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and serve it with a wafer for decoration.

Notes

Mix in the bananas right before serving because they tend to turn brown over time.
