Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 very ripe plantains
  • Oil for frying (vegetable, corn, canola, peanut)

Instructions

  1. Peel the plantains and cut them at a diagonal to make slices (tajadas) as big as you want. You can also cut them lengthwise to get two big tajadas from each plantain. Across to fry two whole pieces. Or you can also fry the whole plantain.
  2. Heat enough oil in a large pan on medium heat. Add the tajadas and fry them for about 3-5 minutes or until they’re golden brown. Remove them from the pan, drain them on paper towels and serve them while still hot as a side dish or as an appetizer.
